To learn more about particle accelerators, about 250 high school students ("Oberstufe") came today to the FAIR construction site and to GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research, after having listened to a talk at Technical University of Darmstadt about ultra intensive laser pulses.

Information about FAIR were given at the testing facility for the SIS100 magnets, which will form part of FAIR’s big synchrotron.
